The totemika chair
Blending times through aesthetics
DesignAs part of an eco-responsible approach, the Milky Blue Factory workshop develops eco-designed and innovative products from bio-sourced materials, which, in addition to presenting undeniable aesthetic and technical qualities, reduce the environmental impact.
The Totemika chair was born from the collaboration with two designers, Muriel Colagrande and Wandrille Heusse. Together they experimented with plant resins, natural fibre materials such as bamboo, linen and cork. The Totemika chair blends eras through aesthetics.
The exuberance of the 70s, captured in fossilised bio-sourced resin, combines with today’s trends.
MURIEL COLAGRANDE
Artistic director, music lover, developer and curious mind… Muriel drifts from one inspiring project to another.
The HandmadeIci initiative is one of those projects: “Exchanging ideas and working as a group to create and manufacture objects from beginning to end. It’s a desire deeply rooted in Men. However, beyond a certain age, society denies us that pleasure. That is what is so great about childhood, everything becomes possible again”.
WANDRILLE HEUSSE
Wandrille was trained in design at the Institut Saint Luc in Tournai, Belgium. His mind bubbles over with ideas and creativity. Sharing, meeting people and experimenting to find a common momentum, giving them the energy they need to let their creativity take shape… that’s what he likes.
In ICIMontreuil he is both designer and enabler. His enthusiasm drives his work and comes from his ability to find opportunities where the skills of some reveals the talent of others.
